Mixed-source workflow
How to Chat With a YouTube Video and PDF Together
Compare what each source supports while preserving the timestamp or PDF page behind every accepted claim.

Publication proof still required
Connected sources and chats, PDF and scanned-PDF context, bounded short-video context, and Cards are verified separately. Before presenting this as a completed walkthrough, run the exact public source pack in production, capture both source-specific chats and Cards, and record one agreement, one difference, one unsupported claim, and any failure.
The short answer
Add the video and PDF as separate sources, ask the same verification question against each one, save only checked findings as Cards, and then ask a cross-source question. Keep timestamps and page numbers with the claims. Draft from accepted evidence and revisit the originals before publishing.
Use a small, public source pack
Use IBM Technology's public captioned YouTube video Mastering AI Risk: NIST's Risk Management Framework Explained and the official NIST AI Risk Management Framework 1.0 PDF. Link to the video rather than copying it. NIST makes the report available free of charge.
The six-step workflow
- Write the research question before importing anything.
- Add the video and PDF as separate, clearly labeled sources.
- Ask the identical verification question against each source.
- Save supported findings as Cards with source locators and review status.
- Ask for one agreement, one difference, and one unsupported claim.
- Draft only from accepted evidence and recheck the originals.
Limits to keep visible
This guide does not promise arbitrary video length, perfect OCR, perfect citations, channel import, protected files, enterprise security, or real-time collaboration. A transcript is not proof of a visual claim, and a Card is not automatically a citation.
Frequently asked questions
Can an AI workspace chat with a YouTube video and PDF together?
Yes, when it can add both source types to one research workflow. Question each source separately first, preserve locators, and synthesize only after checking the source-specific answers.
Does a YouTube import understand everything shown on screen?
Do not assume that. Some products document transcript-only imports, and visual claims still need manual playback and inspection.
Does ChatGrid create perfect citations from videos and PDFs?
No. ChatGrid can keep sources, chats, and Cards connected, but a generated locator or claim can still be wrong. Check important timestamps and pages against the original material.
